Re: Spoony... nothing else to say really
I was just getting triggered by the terrible Enterprise redesign, the lens flares, Sulu's Foldable Nihon Katana, and that fuckhuge Romulan ship that was apparently vomitted out by the wormhole from Event Horizon.

He was a Star Wars fan. So much so that he just copied the original Star Wars and then added DIVERSITY so that nobody could criticise him for it.
He admitted to not being a Star Trek fan though, which to me explains everything

He didn't seem to have a functional grasp on how the force worked originally. Also, why would Leia and Han name their kid Ben? She never met that nigger and Han only knew him for one trip to the Death Star. Why was it just X-Wings in the film? At least Rogue One had Y-Wings doing their thing. Jar Jar Abrams is a hipster who feigns Star Wars fandom for the 'nerd points'.Keith Chegwin wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2017 7:06 pmHe was a Star Wars fan. Fans can be the worst kind of filmmakers. Anyone who's watched Doctor Who knows the golden rule "never, ever fucking ever let a fan take over". Someone who's not a fan can be clearheaded about the franchise and not retcon the whole thing to fit their idea of how something works.

Isn't this basically why capeshit sucks so much?Rushy wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2017 7:31 pmFans can be the worst kind of filmmakers. Don't ask me, they don't sell superhero comics here.VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2017 7:37 pmIsn't this basically why capeshit sucks so much?Rushy wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2017 7:31 pmFans can be the worst kind of filmmakers. This. The moment any of his pet cucks turn against him, he'll ban them. The mildest criticism will trigger a storm of bans and a manchild temper tantrum. And then Hill will complete his transformation into Thumper17. He'll drive his car into Spoony's house with a bomb strapped to his chest.

Yeah. Like I said, if you show your kids something you liked growing up, and they like it, that's fine. I used to watch Star Trek with my father. But it's selfish and stupid to expect your kids to like everything you liked. Or to try to force them to grow up the same way you did.Liar Revealed wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2017 3:15 pmI always feel that way when I see some of these guys dressing up their daughters as Star Wars or capeshit characters, insisting their daughter is a big fan. It's like, come on asshole, I know you're disappointed you had a girl. Don't make her do this for your enjoyment.rabidtictac wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2017 11:09 amRE: Spoony bitching about kids not watching original star wars first:
I don't know why nerds get so fucking precious over their childhood nostalgia. I don't expect the next generation to enjoy all the things I did. If it works out that way, fine, that's nice, but we're in the adult world and even a good movie or tv show isn't that big a deal. C'mon now.
I guess it reminds me of a nerd version of parents wanting their kids to be big into sports, and being crushed/angry when they find out their kid sucks shit at baseball or whatever.

Re: Spoony... nothing else to say really
If you show your kids something you liked growing up, they'll probably either say they love it (if they're young enough, just to make you approve them) or hate it (because they're old enough to be in the edgy preteen days of thinkg everything their parents like is shit).
