Yugioh went downhill after Battle City. Should have just gone straight into the Zorc/Pharaoh ending rather then wasting time with the really stupid Dragons.

They did this in the manga and believe me, it's not that much of an improvement.

Really? I've only read the first volume of Yugioh, it's pretty funny to see how transparent Takahashi was in making up the rules to Yugioh. Certainly there's the famous I Attack the moon/Use turtle catapult on your castle but especially in the manga he makes up all these other weird games using a standard 52 card deck which makes it seem like Yugioh was just one of the many games he was trying to come up with.

Well, the manga was initially about all sorts of games. He - or his manager and/or publisher - just decided one day to stick with the most merchandise-friendly one.

I like how Bakura is a complete pushover for 95% of the series and then in Season 5 all of a sudden becomes unstoppable. Its almost like this show isn't very well written.

It is an ancient law in animu, mango and video games that he who gets designated as the new main bad guy shall have his power level multiplied to be a formidable threat to the heroes.

(Season 5 was where he upgraded to main villain, right?)

I not only read it, I collected all the 38 volumes released over here. It's a guilty pleasure of mine, and one of the most unintentionally funny mangas I've ever read.

I don't know the exact way that contracts work for mangaka but I do know that guys like Toriyama, Oda, Takahashi, Araki, etc, are absolutely loaded whereas in America the guy who created Rocket Raccoon is in a nursing home unable to get the level of care he needs
