Re: Capeshit thread (comics and movies)
I hate humanity more for every day that we keep getting new capeshit movies. I guess I've become like movieblob is with cod, except that the cod saturation never reached the point of 5+ new cod games PER YEAR.

No worries, Useless panther is the top super capshit movie in North America, because people like shitrabidtictac wrote: ↑Sun Mar 25, 2018 4:36 pmI hate humanity more for every day that we keep getting new capeshit movies. Buttmad about something you've never played for changing an industry you never really cared about? Or delusionally believing the games you've never played are turning people towards politics you don't agree with, even though they aren't?

So we're just pretending the Nolan movies were good now? They were shitty C-grade crime movies starring a manlet in a big rubber suit who couldn't fight and growled like a fucking autistic. The only good bit was Anne Hathway's luscious white girl ass and titties in that catsuit.Keith Chegwin wrote: ↑Sun Mar 25, 2018 7:04 amIt's not really Nolan's fault that Warners and other filmmakers are too stupid to realise that what works for Batman isn't going to work for Superman or anyone else.VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Sun Mar 25, 2018 6:51 amAlso Nolan appears to have poisoned the well for the entire DCCU, since especially Man of Steel suffered from trying to emulate the same atmosphere.

Never mind then. Unlike Blob, I have seen a shitload of cape movies and 99% sucked.Keith Chegwin wrote: ↑Sun Mar 25, 2018 7:43 pmButtmad about something you've never played for changing an industry you never really cared about? Nolan wrote and produced Man of Steel, and executive produced Batman v Superman and Justice League.VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Sun Mar 25, 2018 7:31 amNolan is complicit. Nolan is complicit. Nolan is complicit. Nolan is...
He actually is complicit!
Nolan always seemed embarrassed by the source material. It really became apparent in that last film when he was too embarrassed to call the character "Catwoman" and his really lame take on Robin. Those first two Batman movies of his were OK, but they were really overrated.Guest wrote: ↑Sun Mar 25, 2018 9:00 pmSo we're just pretending the Nolan movies were good now? The Burton films weren't perfect at all, but at least he knew how to have fun with the characters.

Re: Capeshit thread (comics and movies)
He didn't write Man of Steel. He actually strongly disagreed with Goyer and Snyder's decision to have Superman kill Zod at the end
The extent of which was him being in the room during a couple of early meetings for both.Liar Revealed wrote: ↑Mon Mar 26, 2018 6:08 amand executive produced Batman v Superman and Justice League.
The Burton films were just as bad, if not worse. If Nolan's Catwoman didn't use the name but kept the character mostly the same, Burton's Catwoman kept the name but changed pretty much everything else about her. Same with Burton's Joker
Batman Returns was such a joyless killfest that it indirectly led to the death of the franchise. Warners lost so many merchandising opportunities because of Returns that they decided they needed a family friendly Batman film for the next instalment, which is how we got Batman Forever and, ultimately, Batman & RobinLiar Revealed wrote: ↑Mon Mar 26, 2018 6:08 ambut at least he knew how to have fun with the characters.
The only great theatrically released Batman film and the only Batman film that got everything pretty much right was Batman: Mask of the Phantasm

Once again, putting the "win" in Chegwin. Mask of the Phantasm is the only Batman movie that I don't even have minor complaints about whatsoever.Keith Chegwin wrote: ↑Mon Mar 26, 2018 6:25 amThe only great theatrically released Batman film and the only Batman film that got everything pretty much right was Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
