I've looked up the new one and Kenneth Branagh as Hercule Poirot looks absolutely retarded with that comical beard. What a fucking disgrace. Plus, I'm not watching anything with that terribly Ridley cunt. She's beyond awful.

My pops and I saw this shit last night. It was worse than a TV movie of the week. I feel sorry that he wasted money on the rental. Just a sorry piece of trash of a movie with zero emotional investment. I want to go back and watch the Sidney Lumet movie now.

I watched Along.with.the.Gods.The.Two.Worlds yesterday, Some weird korean afterlife adventure movie.

It was pretty entertaining and I wanted to see where it went but in the end I was pretty disappointed with

the movie's message basically comes down to: lying your ass off is alright (in buddism I guess?). To me that is just a wrong world/lifeview so I was wondering if buddist are really that shallow or if the movie misrepresents them

Sounds like it's not cut and dried, but there are some lines about how liars lead hollow and empty lives.

Fundamental to buddhism seems to be the idea of causing harm, or at least that's the interpretation now. One presumes it's more about the intent of the lie. One of the posters goes godwin to explain how they believe the buddha would have lied to protect the 11 quintillion from nazis.

Yes that was it exactly, it seems lying IS wrong there too unless you do it to protect someone. MY problem with that is that the person is not allknowing and will never know at that time of the lie if the truth will ever come out, and in most cases (at least in the movie) if the truth had come out at a wrong time it would have been disastrous...
I dont feel a person going to heaven or hell (or whatever buddism got) should be decided by pure luck... Like some liars that are lucky enough to not have their lie caught go to heaven but the unlucky ones who also lied with good intentions but there the truth came out too soon so he goes to hell???? Weird as fuck to me, either lying is wrong or right.

The moment you can't judge for yourself on how to deal with telling the truth and having to ask for a guideline, you've soundly stepped into total cunt territory.
A lie isn't the same in any situation. You damn well know what the best course of action is in any given situation you'd contemplate lying in. Pro tip: if that decision is really easy for you in favour of lying, you're very likely a cunt. No reason to try and be all Buddhist about that.

I try to never ever lie anymore, no small or innocent the lie since I learned that Christ IS the truth, building a relation with truth will let you receive more truth and bring you close to Yahuah/Yahushuah. Ever since I stopped lying Ive discovered so many things about this world and I can usually instantly recognize when someone is lying.


I just felt I knew a bit about buddism from back when I was studying mosts religions / theories of life but I never knew their dumb stance on lying.

I still don't understand why Hollywood made another adaptation of Murder on the Orient Express. Sidney Lumet's adaptation from the 1970s is considered a classic and Agatha Christie isn't in vogue right now. Is Lumet's film drastically different from the source material?

They might be scratching the barrel for well-known IPs to ruin.
