No doubt the box office for Suupes would make these executives happier if it were closer to a billion, but it is approaching breaking even, and closing around 700-750, even 800 mil is totally achievable. Theres a compelling argument to be made that Superhero fatigue is settling in, the projections for Fantastic Four are lower than Superman, and several of these projects are getting lapped by vidya adaptations.

There’s also an argument that brandwise, DC wasn’t in stellar shape coming into this movie. Their last five projects have included moments like Ezra Miller putting a baby in a microwave, deepfake Christopher Reeve and Joker getting assraped in prison.

No duh they would love a billion but I think WB Discovery is realistic and understand that isn't happening with how bad the brand is. Instead I believe that they are treating this like Batman Begins and are satisfied with it breaking even. Which I think it will in no later than 2 weeks. One thing this movie has over Man of Steel is the better word of mouth. This movie had a 2nd weekend drop of 53% which is really good for capeshit while MOS had a 65% drop which is bad in the other direction. It really comes down to how it holds up against the F4 movie. If that movie bombs and Superman holds on, then it will be a success for them.
