There's also a cutscene involving gay kissing.

Do they kiss though?
I haven't watched the video in great detail, but all i saw was the blond fag checking the temperature of the other fag with his forehead.

It's a Japanese product. I'm pretty sure a kiss is never actually seen on-screen, but heavily implied.

I like 10 - combats good, the pacing is rarely disrupted, musics great, and the people that hate Tidus are usually projecting.
it has flaws - clear and present flaws (the Celestial Weapon side quests - hoooooly fuck), but I enjoyed my experience replaying it, recently.
Most complaints about FFX are "maps are just hallways!" and "Tidus is <gay/annoying/gay and annoying>". I remember playing it just fine, the only problem was that I did my nigga Khimari an injustice and completely screwed his build by hopping into Lulu's sector because I thought he would play well as a blue mage.
The stuff that actually sucks about 10 (side content no one would ever want to play, linear exploration, leaps in logic with the plot) - got infinitely worse with later games.

It was the beginning of the end - but I’ve little problem with 10 itself.

DHI is proof you can be both a massive homosexual and a virgin. They're not exclusive. If you display both in large enough quantities you can qualify for mod status.

10 is one of the few FF games I've actually played. I thought it was shit and stopped halfway through. Just boring and shallow.

It is a great game led down by being aggressively anime.
And then there's Final Fantasy X-2, the closest the main series ever got to being like the good old days again.

It is aggressively anime.

And of course VORP likes X-2.

I was young and not prepared for so much fanservice.
Nowadays I'm more mature and can appreciate the cuteness of Bravely Default.

It really isn't. It is incredibly boring garbage that one could only possibly like because its anime.
I guess if more drab level design and combat than Wizardry is your thing, you might like it.

3 party JRPGs are mostly complete shite. The reason for that is the limitations it places upon party creation and management. With only three party members, one must always be a healer. The other is likely to be physical damage. The third probably a mage. You can make other parties in a 3 party system but they always feel suboptimal. Of course, anything works if you grind enough. But I don't find that satisfying.

4 is the minimum because it gives you some flex. With 4, you can cover your bases and still add something extra. 6 is even better. I wouldn't want more than 6, but 6 is pretty perfect. One mage, one physical DPS, one healer. Ok, now your "must haves" are covered and you have half the party to play with. If it's a more traditional "hardcore" rpg, then you might also need a dedicated thief archetype to open chests, disarm traps etc. Quality of life shit. Even then, that's only 4 roles spoken for and you can double them up, like thief with mage or thief with physical dps.

I've played a lot of different RPGs and JRPGs with different party limits. All the games I played with only 3 party members felt lacking in some respect. Mario RPG is a good example. Once you get Peach, you will never take her out of your party. There's no reason to take Mario out either, since he's OP with Lazy Shell/Supa Jump. So you get one slot to maybe change around characters. Although again, Bowser is there and he's so strong that putting someone else in is kinda pointless. You CAN use Geno and Mallow but why would you after recruiting Bowser/Peach?

I was going to provide more examples of other 3 party rpgs but it broke down the same way in every game that came to mind. 3 is such a low limit that overpowered characters will come to the fore incredibly quickly and shine much brighter than if they were one in a six-man team.

4 is just perfect. You have your healer, 2 types of DPS (or DPS and tank, depending on the game) and with a bit of customization / roster size the 4th can be whatever is most useful in the current situation (like say some boss fight might call for an extra mage or healer).
3 is pretty lame, especially in franchises that started with 4 (or sometimes more) only to then follow the 3-man "standard". Probably the most infamous case is Final Fantasy, and I suspect they initially did that due to hardware limitations (since the downsizing happened with FF7, aka the first 3D entry) and then they just never bothered to go back to 4 ever again (because apparently that's now the only bit of gameplay that shall never be reinvented).
But I'm sure eternal FF7 fantards will tell you this was the most brilliant change the franchise ever did because now every single character matters so much more.
