After about ten years, I reinstalled Skyrim with all its DLC's. So far it's been mostly quite fun to develop my character, a cat sword & shield melee warrior, but I'm playing on legendary and there's been some glaring difficulty spikes, like regular bandits don't pose any danger to me anymore, they can't even get through my armor, I could even totally ignore them if I wanted to, but then, after the level 20 now it has suddenly begun to appear enormously challenging bandit chiefs, marauders and forsworn briarhearts who can kill me with 1-3 hits despite the fact that I have the best armor I can get in the game at the moment. Fighting these with a melee oriented character seems utterly impossible, the only way to deal with these guys is to use stealth archery and exploit the enemy AI, hit them, escape from the area where the enemy is ready to follow you, repeat. Fucking boring. This is just bad game design. Hopefully the situation will change with the level of development.

That's just the result of Todd's extremely lazy way of implementing level scaling. The game feels pointless because you'll never progress beyond the game's ability to keep up. You might as well stay at level 1 forever because nothing will change.

I have poured hundreds of hours into Skyrim, so I say from a place of authority that it is one of the shallowest, most futile, threadbare and shitty "RPG" experiences you can have. Skyrim is a horrible game. Skyrim is a Marker Following Simulator.

I never played this one before and it's really good. Very flexible in what assistance and AI you want to have, several kinds of events from drifting to drag racing to open wheel cars and a nice sim balance to my current arcade racing diet.
