He's got a fanbase. His X-Force was the second highest selling comic of all time, after Jim Lee's X-Men #1. Now, granted, a lot of that was because of muh variants, but it's a feat that hasn't since been equalled because the industry took a massive shit in the mid 90s.

Kirkman, the writer, tried to do a book with liefeld. Liefeld, to his credit, tried to level up his art game for it. Kirkman saw the art liefeld did for it and was upset it wasn't like 90s liefeld.

Companies like Marvel were desperate for a quick buck and resorted to gimmicks like “Collectors Item” issues. Newspaper comics are in the same boat, which is why Dennis the Menace is still running and Peanuts still continues in reruns.

Might be? This is what guest is trying to ignore. Liefeld is better than most of the current "talent". Dude created Cable and Deadpool. These new people have created jack and shit of note.
