He wouldn't be allowed into the White House. Not even as a guest. He'd rot to death in some trailer park with Miles paying his rent so he stays the fuck away.
There's nothing funnier then a President's failure of a sibling. I'm pretty sure the entire nation would be ragging on him.

Shoujo probably isn't any different, but I don't watch it because it's just shounen cliche bullshit except with stuff girls stereotypically like. Imagine a soap opera mixed with animu cliches.
They can be hard to tell apart sometimes.

The art for One Piece always pissed me off. It struck me as impressively shit even compared to garbage like Naruto. You've got Araki on the one end and One Piece on the other.
One Piece does some weird stuff, but I prefer its variety in character designs over Bleach (where characters who started out looking different gradually morphed into the same person as Kubo got lazier) or Naruto (where especially the younger characters have the tendency to share the same silhouette with the same face and the same expression, like a bunch of elongated Lego minifigures).

One Piece as a series that should not end becase, no matter how incredible the One Piece may be, by the pace the villains are appearing, it has to be Super Mega Kami God Desu just to match up to the guy from the earlier panel. And besides, at one point Zoro lifted and threw a house over his head. And if you remember his backstory, his childhood friend broke her neck from falling down the stairs. I'm not autistic enough to fret over it but in a show where you can survive a thermonuclear blast with bandages and rubbing alcohol, snapping your neck should not even be possible.
I gave the neck thing a pass because she was like 8 or 10 at that time. OP characters don't seem to become Saiyans before puberty.

Ah yes, the old total lack of physics.. People bounce around like ping pong balls and never get hurt when they're slammed into walls or take other hits that should be a death sentence. They even have a fucking kamehameha battle. Fug.

As I said, when it comes to shounen lately, I've mostly been watching JoJo. I'm not used to all this generic shounen bullshit.

Kira in Part 4 gets owned by a shard of glass and an ambulance crushing his head. Santana got wrecked by the sun. D'Arby lost at poker. Even Dio just got punched to death.

Bleach feels like a betrayal, because the beggining was very good. The Soul Society arc has lots of cool characters and concepts that may not make a lot of sense, but are just amazing to watch. Kenpachi, for example, is a chaotic mess amidst a very anally retentive, orderly society. He fights Ichigo just for the fuck of it, then immediately do a heel turn and fights two captains of the Soul Society, just because fighting against strong people is what he strives for. You had detailed fights that didn't involve the main characters, and that was a breath of fresh air in shone manga. It looked great.

Then the drop in quality started, and it became more and more predictable, and Kubo couldn't help himself but to create these cool concepts that became new characters that he couldn't just get rid off, and it bloated the series to the point that the characters all became irrelevant. Then the fight oponent-get curbstomped-smug smile-asspull-curbstomps pattern became the rule for every single fight. It became tiresome, really quick.

He probably got overworked and stressed out, I'm not denying that, but Kubo is a special kind of douche on his own. No wonder Shonen Jump was glad to let him go without that much fanfare.

It went downhill fast after actual bad guys with sword showed up. Even Kenpachi just became a joke, what with him going "Guess I'll use both hands" in a fight where he just straight-up stole the spotlight from another character (who just disappeared for years thanks to there being too many characters).
For me, the show peaked when Chad swatted an invisible bat monster - with a telephone pole he just uprooted.

A good example of Kubo being incompetent was Grand Fisher. First real threat to Ichigo, and the first Hollow we see turn into an Arrancar - except there were so many goddamn chapters between this foreshadowing and his actual return that everyone has gotten used to kill Arrancar made out of higher-tier Hollows. Dude wasn't even a blip on the radar anymore.

Not really shounen, but Kamen Rider Kuuga is pretty fun in that regard: The main villain gets killed in a bare knuckle fight, and the remaining monsters just get gunned down easily after the police figures out how to make anti-monster bullets. They even work better than Kuuga ever did since they don't cause the monster to explode (which was an actual concern in the show since those explosions got big).

The big problem with Bleach isn't anything you guys said. The big problem was there from the start and should have been a warning. Spirit Bodies. The big problem was the rules were already bullshit from the start of the mango. Physics didn't matter. Rules didn't matter. Everything was fucking magic. So who cares if you suddenly have eight gates bankai or monsters with stupid mexican masks or evil super saiyan mode? It's all just riffing off the lack of rules created by all this spirit bodies bullshit.

Compare with something like DBZ, Narutard or Hunter X Hunter, where there is at least nominally some sense of reality at the start. Characters become superhuman by using this limited resource (aura, chakra, ki etc). I'm not saying those shounen were realistic, but they had a better rationalization than Bleach's fucking spirit magic.

Bleach would have been fine if it stuck to the spirit detective storyline it was using at the start, because a procedural doesn't need to worry about power creep as much. YuYu Hakusho was the same way until it became a tournament fighter.

Oh dem spirit bodies. Just try to make sense out of the rate at which people age whenever a flashback chapter comes up.

And the early days of it being an urban fantasy ghost hunting show was really the only time it had personality. After that it just became a DBZ fighting game with swords.

Bleach is just bad though. I'd say it's bad even compared to other bad shounen like Naruto. The new current shitty shounens are My Hero Academia (which is ok I guess, I mean it's better than Bleach) and shit like World Trigger (also not very good.)
Why do you not like World Trigger? I thought it was pretty good; it has a lot more strategy in the fights than is typical for a shonen series, which often just boil down to characters one-upping each other with some random new power or counter until the fight ends.

Fair enough. Let's get back on topic. Let's talk about all of the things Spoony has done lately.

So, how about that Dragon Ball Super?
