Imagine trying to recommend a self help book to Noah at this stage in the game. Are these people even paying attention?
Self help, moar like self-harm
Isn't it
slightly problematic that this book features a
woman lecturing
men about how they ought to live their lifes?
lay claim to the rich and rewarding inner lives that have historically been the exclusive province of women
I'm getting flashbacks to the Bad Web Comics wiki, where the tranny and genderswap comics they keep tearing apart have the constant underlying message of "Girls have happier lifes than boys".

They always act naive in thinking Noah is just some regular guy going through some problems. He's a pathological narcissist. "Self help" implies that he would have to admit he did something wrong and is not perfect which is a non-starter to begin with. King Spoony the Great is perfect, the world around him just let him down.
They're idiots who hope that
they are the ones to finally manage to help Spoony return to his glory days.

Why's he paying taxes on the house if he's just going to lose it anyway?
I'm pretty sure the
bank is doing that atm. They wanna own that shit once he gets kicked out, after all.
