Absolute bullshit. That's the very first time he's ever mentioned cryptography. I'm also sure he hasn't gotten an actual degree, just some shallow shit others do as a supplementary course. He couldn't code Hello World in Basic.
I too wonder if he never graduated. On his livejournal he talks of "grad school wrapping up" and "soon" having a Masters. But uh, he never went to grad school. And he has later lj posts talking about how he was rejected. So why was he acting like he was just about to complete it?
It's another probable lie, a big tell is he only mentions his education when he needs you to take what he's about to say seriously, and normally that thing is him ranting like it's 2010 that someone else is WRONG. It's the adult version of "My dad works at Nintendo trust me."

Because the choice is based entirely on cause and effect. You come up with the choice to spite Spoony(aka an external factor) and whether or not you do walk around the block depends on the personality you have, which is the accumulation of years of decisions also caused by external factors.
Does it depend on my personality? There is no actual barrier to that choice. I could take a walk because I like to take walks but I could also take a walk exactly because I don't usually do that to do something different. So my habits and personality can make it equally as likely for me to pick either choice.

I didn't pick that choice specifically to spite Spoony. I just picked a simple thing with an unimportant outcome.
Something like "I am thirsty. Do I drink something or not?" would be pointless to ask. External factors that make your action a necessity rule out the option of a choice.

Which brings me to the only thing I'll concede to the anti-free-choice camp: You can't make a choice that makes no sense to you. Even if you do something completely idiotic, you'll always have some reasoning behind it. But to me that only proves further that there is a decision being made by you, instead of just a compulsion that drives you like an automaton.

Where did he theoretically get his degree? I assume ASU because that's close to mommy's house. Should be pretty easy to check into.

It would surprise me if he didn't mention it somewhere on his blog.

That looks the resume of a true computer scientist. A 15 year old bachelor's degree from a school best known for its Girls Gone Wild videos, 1 year of "proofreading" experience 13 years ago and then various spazzy internet video nerd shit.
And did he actually register as an LLC? Filling out a form seems like an awful lot of work for Boss.

So what does a bachelor degree in computer science translate to in practical terms?
I know nothing of that stuff but I'm assuming that a 15 year old bachelor degree with no work experience is about as valuable as having been a barista at a Starbucks for a week.

There's no barrier because you have a will of your own, but your will is constructed by your experiences. If you take a walk because you don't take walks and want to try something new, that's something based on experience. But if you take a walk because you like taking walks, that is also based on experience. Whether you like trying something new or prefer something tried and true is decided by your accumulation of experiences.

Following this line of thinking, choice itself is an illusion. Your experiences have molded you into particular ways of thinking and that thinking can inevitably only lead to one outcome when presented with options. The only variables are the external factors. Even if you're not emotionally invested in a choice. Even if it's something as trivial as deciding whether or not to absent-mindedly kick a pebble. Some part of your consciousness still makes that choice and the decision is based on the most minute external factors, such as how your leg feels or how far you're willing to move to kick the pebble.
