I think the hardest bosses there for me are the smaller fuckers that dart all of the screen. Mostly static dudes are more predictable.

Most regular enemies are actually more an annoyance than a danger.
I currently have 75 missiles, five tanks plus one reserve, spazer, wave, charge and ice beam. There's nothing you can't easily fuck up in that state.

I'll see how I do against the second statue boss. I was pretty bad against that guy the last time around.

I never actually bought the MGS HD Collection. 3 games for $20 brand new, breddy gudd. Obviously you could just emulate, but these are in HD and Peace Walker has far superior controls and visuals to what it did on PSP (even emulated.)

Mostly I wanted to play Peace Walker and MGS3. I've come to the realization I don't really enjoy the "Solid Snake" metal gear games. Those tend to be the ones where Kojima excesses are the most blatant and unrestrained. MGS2 had so many subtle "fuck you" moves directed at fans of MGS1, and MGS4 was a finger to people who complained about too many cutscenes in previous metal gear games. MGS3 and PW are probably my favorites. They have just enough gameplay improvements to make them replayable, without the bloat of MGS4 or the unfinished story of MGSV.

I'm probably not alone in thinking Big Boss is way more interesting than Solid Snake, also. Solid Snake is just a gayboi who wants to fuck a computer nerd. Big Boss doing ambiguously good and evil things in equal measure gives him more dimension. He's morally closer to the Snake of his namesake.... Names... Snake? Namesnake?

I thought at least MGS3 was supposed to be a bitch to run on PCSX2. (nobody cares about the PC version of MGS2)

I learned my lesson playing peace walker on psp. I love peace walker, but the 2nd analog stick is a big deal in metal gear games. I saw the control scheme for the 3ds mgs3 and noped the fuck out.

I also know that it's better than the claw and that the mere fact of having a second stick enables emulation to use an actual one with a proper pad.
To see it as anything but a blessing is foolish.
