It's called overcompensation, especially Phelan which done several thing mocking Bores and I'm pretty sure he is the incentive of this. They use Bores as an example of someone who tried doing what they did and fail [at least in their minds], being shit at it, copying avgn, spewing nonsense and fallacies and failed miserably, thanks to this image, they can feel better about themselves. No matter how shit my stuff is at least I am not the Irate gamer, the laughing stock of the reviewer community.
The irony of it is Bores learned from his mistakes and refocused on a younger demo with his 'Puppet Steve' channel and has more views than Phelan. Phelan just like Bores delved into toy videos and they are doing nothing in views something around 15K.

Sigh took the words out of my mouth. Yes, Phelan was almost certainly the one behind this Bores shit. He has had an unhealthy obsession with Bores for the longest fucking time.
