He worked a variety of jobs, food service at first, then a couple of phone sales and admin jobs. He also had a stint as technician in a perfume laboratory. He's been an addict since he was a teenager so I guess he was good at hiding it.

The only time his addiction caused him to lose a job was when he was heavily abusing cough medicine and become convinced that he was chosen by God to led the American proletariat in a communist revolution. He wrote up this crazy manifesto talking about how civil war was inevitable and gave it to the company owner's daughter. The FBI ended up on my doorstep because of it.
