You can’t just chalk his entire persona up to “he liked being contrarian because he got off on it.” It’s just an excuse to not think. His message was; “What the fuck is wrong with people. Are they blind?” I’m not saying it was complicated, but you have to have a certain amount of passion to be able to rant in the way he did. He was a cocky shit, I’m agreeing with you, but to say it didn’t all come from somewhere? Nah.

He got way too pissy himself while at it and never knew when to leave well enough alone.
He's the kinda guy to get himself worked up into a tantrum when he felt like people didn't care enough about his newest hot take.

It's not that he wanted to be contrarian, it's that he'd throw a shit fit if people didn't agree, or worse, didn't care for what he said.

Thus, when he came along and would drop one of his hot takes like "Bees are terrible!", people that were aware of his shit would just roll their eyes and go "Oh god, here we go again.".
