Stuff on the internet is like slasher franchises, it just gets resurrected in a new iteration no matter how pathetic things get.

I dunno, those slasher reboots a couple years back seemed to have been pretty successful in killing those franchises.

Bah, they won't stay dead forever. Once Paramount remembers that literally anyone could make a half-decent Friday the 13th film, they'll start making big bucks from Jason again. Michael Myers is already set for a big comeback. Chucky, Leatherface and Pinhead never really left.VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Wed Jun 27, 2018 9:51 pmI dunno, those slasher reboots a couple years back seemed to have been pretty successful in killing those franchises.
The only one who's kinda iffy is Freddy, but hey, you never know.

Those movies make prime money around Halloween. They found cheaper shit makes just as much or more money with much less of an investment and marketing budged. They will only come back as a very short fad if at all. Gotta squeeze that nostalgia out of the hipster faggots before they are too old and that trust fund money runs out.

This. There's a reason most horror movies are shit. They pump them out seasonally and then don't bother. Quick buck quick buck.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Thu Jun 28, 2018 12:14 amThose movies make prime money around Halloween. When was the last time a good horror comedy came out anyway?

It Follows is supposedly good but I haven't seen it myself.

It Follows isn't a comedy, it is a damn good horror though. Tucker and Dale vs Evil was a pretty enjoyable horror comedy, and I enjoyed Cabin in the Woods although the ending was fucking dumb.

There's gotta be something that came after Shaun of the Dead.
