He could solve this whole issue in a mature way if he told a serious and emotional story about how these KH fans are clearly expecting a review from an expert of the franchise who has as much memories and nostalgia as they have, which Joe will never have even if he were to speedrun through all previous entries.
Every game in a franchise is someone's entry point, especially if there hasn't been a main entry in two console-generations (though remakes and shit might count I guess). KH3 has to stand on its own.

More pressing, Bethesda belongs to ZeniMax. There is no company that bought up and destroyed more game studios than them. Not even EA.

Most big publishers use these slimy tactics and a whole lot more, it's not unique to Bethesda. Jim Sterling will whine about this happening but he will never go in depth like even you have here and explain HOW they fuck over devs, it's all vague shit. And that's on purpose, being a fake fuck like him and Joe means they can never actually redpill people on these shitty practices otherwise devs will now how to avoid being fucked.

Joe supporting a company that engages in this shit is not a surprise, most idiots only think EA does this shit but they all set unrealistic deadlines on devs and don't pay overtime to save money. Sterling pisses me off more because that cunt has contacts in the industry and probably knows a ton of shit (game devs are very casual about how they get no sleep and work long hours) but keeps his mouth shut unless it already becomes a big controversy for him to chime in on.

The fucker defended Leigh Alexander VERY publicly during Gamergate when people dug up her tweets bragging about being able to destroy careers and her blatantly shilling games her side company did PR for among other things. It's guaranteed he is covering a lot of shit they are doing, as is Wan Xian who has dished out precisely ZERO fucking dirt on that whole scene despite being in deep with them before he "changed".
