Yeah, I mean, I got tired of his videos, cause seriously, who cares about fucking lame ass reviews of porn movies(what, you mean a porno doesn't have a decent narrative, fucking seriously?), but in all honesty Brad Jones stays busy and hustles for every dollar.

You just can't downplay it, he stays super busy. He released 10 mainline Cinema Snob videos in one month in addition to all the vlogs he makes both by himself and with friends. And all while making a movie.

Again, most of this stuff is shitty, and I'm not going to pretend that his movie is any good, but when it comes to delivering product to his fans the man is on point. No excuses, no bullshit, just work. It's the only thing about him that's worth a damn.

Why are internet nobodies so bad at film? Snob and Red Letter Media come to mind. Sure they have no money, but good movies have been made with no money. And they are all film school graduates. What did they learn it school because it wasn't how to make a film. Credit to Rolf, his movie was not filmed inside his house with his not actor friends and looked like a movie.

What did they learn it school because it wasn't how to make a film. Credit to Rolf, his movie was not filmed inside his house with his not actor friends and looked like a movie.

Because none of them actually have any talent. Yes, James Rolf included. None of their movies are any good, because none of them know how to actually craft a quality movie. Sure, they can pick apart bad ones and supposedly describe what a good movie is supposed to be like, but when they have the option to make a movie, none of them actually can.

This is especially true for the Snob, who at least appears to be trying to make movies that are recognizable as films, but simply doesn't know how to write a script, direct a scene, or develop worthwhile characters.

I still have hope in James, since at the very least, he is a good enough director to create a dramatic atmosphere. He said in a recent video that he's planning to make an oldfashioned minimalistic horror movie(with hopefully no relation to internet critics), and I'm willing to give that a chance.

Pretty much all of them tried to make comedies, but they're unable to make comedies, they try to take the funny video formula and stretch it out to a feature and this is not Burgerland's Funniest Home Videos if you want to do a movie you have to do a movie. The bigger question is why would any of them even try to make movies in the first place, maybe the reason their movies are crap is the same reason why they are doing internet stuff to begin with, because they didn't get into the actual film making business or because they were shit at the film school as well. To extent I think this is their infatuation with the idea of a indie film maker, or they saw a Kevin Smith or Quentin Tarantino and thought to themselves I can do it as well. Though to pursue that path you have to do actual work which is impossible to most of them.

Speaking from experience, you can't do serious drama on a minuscule budget. You need to hire actual actors for it to work, and have all the sets and props looking believable. You can do comedy, because the cheap production adds to the humor. (However, the script and actors need to be funny.)
If you try to do serious drama, it usually ends up looking like this:
