No, but they're passionate and draw you in, which makes them appealing to watch.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Jun 28, 2018 8:24 pmPeople have really warped perceptions of Monster Madness and James' ability as a film reviewer. They aren't expert analysis on cinematography, staging, direction etc and how that affects the film, they're a simple if fun recounting of the film's plot and interesting little trivia about the production.

Re: The Angry Video Game Cuck
Unfortunately, it seems like that he just didn't have it in him to make real movies. AVGN is the closest thing to it, and not only it took him like 7 years, and a lot of fan donations, didn't he also have a help directing it? I think the screenplay is his, and I'm sure he did a lot on the set, but he just isn't the material.
And while I don't think he is as delusional or nowhere near as shit as Doge, who has completely given up, yeah, it's a bit sad to see James probably never becoming what he wanted to be. But that's life - if you can't get better at something and don't even have connections or you're not charismatic/psychopathic enough to worm your way into the industry, you get stuck doing small, not-ambitious stuff to survive. And I'm saying it's a bit sad only because he isn't a cunt like the other fucks. I'm ignoring his questionable reasons to keep Motherfucker Mike around, of course.

People have wanted James to do a horror movie ever since the mr. Bucket review. I think that's his one chance to make something truly great

You're right - and that's a good thing!Guest wrote: ↑Thu Jun 28, 2018 8:24 pmPeople have really warped perceptions of Monster Madness and James' ability as a film reviewer. RLM can't make a good movie to save their life either. They aren't really expert level of explaining composition, cinematography or any of that other shit. They do make entertaining videos, though. That's mostly because talking about movies is their favourite thing and because they give a shit.
I've watched videos about stuff I don't really care for made by people who really care about those things. Enthusiasm helps a great deal with entertainment value. It's fun to dip into fandoms you're not part of just in the same way it can be fun to listen to somebody rage and unload frustrations long held onto something.
I need a steady feed of background noise. Something that's actually interesting or that somebody had fun making is perfect for that and I'm far from the only one. You don't need a great steak every day.

I believe he directed it himself, but his friend helped him write it.Some Sick Fuck wrote: ↑Thu Jun 28, 2018 10:32 pmUnfortunately, it seems like that he just didn't have it in him to make real movies. I'm sure he got a lot of technical help from those industry pros he hired.
It's really stressful to write, direct, and star in a production as big as that. Plus trolls calling him a Kickscammer and a racist for making his movie. And we don't know if it made or lost money. Any of those things might have scared him off from trying again.

Oh yeah, I absolutely don't think that was something easy to achieve - but the point is, he was never able to secure himself a producer with enough money to fund any potential movie ideas, the only real thing he has achieved was because of a popularity of his online character. Neither was he ever able to get a job as a director on any smaller movies, not as far as I know.
You can't make a career off kickstarter - after all, it's mostly for side-projects or to generate extra buzz for those that are fortunate enough that they can attract enough people to bgin with.

That's why you don't marry and have kids, they sap your energy and distract you from following your dreams. He's going to be an editor and side-reviewer for the rest of his career, or until the West falls, whichever comes first.
