I just looked it up. Sounds like a mix of Rheinisch, Hessisch, Schwäbisch and Platt with some Denglisch and a hard burger dialect.
It's comprehensible. I could have a regular conversation with them, yeah. They use some local words from all kinds of mostly western German dialects it seems. Like "schaffe" instead of "arbeiten" and such. I bet if you learned German in school you still wouldn't be able to understand them since you'd not be aware of slang like that.

Those dialects tend to look horrible in text-form, but are okay when spoken out. It's not like anyone over here would write in-dialect, anyways.
