Yup. I remember one particularly dumb asshole once calling doing a let's play a "project", as if it was a project for actual job.

Pretty much every german lets player call it that when they do a lets play of a new game.

Maybe it's a language thing? I sometimes call my shitty ass videos "projects" when I'm working on them simply because I don't know what else to call them. I'm not taking them seriously or consider it "work", but the word project just happens to fit any unfinished work you're doing.

But you work on them. If you're doing editing and voice overs etc., that's work and of course, not a problem to call it a project. The difference is when some asshole comes out and says that he's going to be playing a game for 10 hours (over the course of couple of weeks at best) and then just cut it down to 10 minute pieces and upload it to youtube - that's not a project, that's just you spending time on your hobby and having incredible priviledge to also make money from it. Zero effort.

Mind you, this was years ago. I just remember it because it was so ludicrous. Nowdays, I don't think that happens unless we talk about very small channels that simply do it for fun. All the money making assholes have fucked off onto at least doing some editing and then releasing cut down versions of a daily stream etc.
