This is the TL/DR version of my opinion on this.

Long version, while I am not going to be as edgy as SickFuck and Tictac are (because as much of an asshole TB was, he didn't deserve this even if he made that stupid tweet) I'm not going to pretend like he is a perfect guy. He really soured on me lately and lashing out at the damn nurse right before he was dying was the final straw for any ounce of sympathy I would have for him. Lashing out at people who voted 3rd Party in the election (which included his wife, which she publicly reprimanded him for) and lying about being poor enough for Obamacare (I can't believe I forgot that part, that's such a scummy fucking thing) along with his spergout over the "Are Traps Gay" drama were two other incidents that soured me on him. In your dying days you should at least try to not be a cunt to people and make sure people remember you at your best, but even when facing death at such a young age he didn't change a god damn bit.

During Gamergate he grew a spine though it took him a bit of time and I gained some respect for him. Unlike his friends Joe and Sterling he lived up to his name as a consumer advocate and stood up for his audience when everyone else was calling them scumbags. He told Ben Kuchera to fuck off (and rightly so, I legit think he is an evil human being), and I know Karen Straughan is a cunt now but at the time he was commenting on her videos and openly supporting her, and tried to make things better in Gamergate, unlike that fence sitting shithead Boogie who backed the fuck down right away and fished for sympathy likes like he always does. He didn't hold back and did what was right, it was like getting cancer made him live without fear rather than worry about any potential lost revenue from assholes dissociating with him.

He backed away from Gamergate and eventually became what he hated. If he had died during Gamergate I would have felt sorry for him dying since it would have been a great way to go out, but as drgnkiller said he became more of a prick and reverted to his old ways.

I have to say though, all of those pieces of dogshit who did that whole #unsubTB shit and tried to ruin his career over petty shit better not come out of the woodwork and pretend they were cool with him. In particular the Extra Credits guys little speil where they straight up lied about him and tried to imply he was "doing harm" and completely excommunicated from him and that dev that made Titan Souls. I guarantee you at least some of the mungrels will virtue signal hard about how cool they thought he was, and that is much scummier than shitposting about him dying. Also when Angry Joe makes a video, be sure to turn adblock off to see if he turned ads on this time.

I feel sorry for his wife though since I know exactly what TB went through and it would have been rough for her. At the end TB would have needed help taking a shit and wiping his ass, and probably shit himself a few times. My Dad was helping out my grandfather during his final days and that was some of what he had to deal with, and Genna seeing him in that state won't be good for her mentally. That zombie-like state would have been horrible to see since he would have looked dead anyway (you kind of saw that with the pictures anyway) and she should get some counselling if it fucked her up a bit.

I hate to break this to you but the only reason he inserted himself into GamerGate, really, was to keep the attention off all the people throwing the insults.

I will agree that I feel sorry for his wife. It's a lot to deal with at such a young age and while she might feel slight relief that her husband's now at peace, it's going to get even harder for her now he's gone because he's made basically no fucking provisions for them at all.
