I went in to get my appendix removed and all I wanted was for my wife (fiancee at the time) to be there with me. Nothing else mattered-- and that's something that wasn't even necessarily life threatening. The day I had to spend in recovery, after the surgery (they got it before it burst, thankfully), I wanted to go home, sure, but I never once said to anyone visiting me, "hey could you go home and grab my laptop so that I can play some vidya while I wait to get better?" That shit can wait.

I have to agree. If I were dying, the last thing I'd want to do is talk about dying. But, unlike TB, I wouldn't be some toxic crybully and I'd have already set things up for after I'm gone.

TBH if I were him, I'd do massive online multiplayer sessions with fans or something. Not necessarily with mic, just a chill gaming session with friends and fans to say thanks for all the years and GG on all your future lives guiz. Go out having fun. I don't know what games totalbitch likes but there must be something that would fit that mold.

They have television in basically every hospital room. The ER at the methodist hospital that I go to has them in those rooms, even. Take some time to talk with family and some friends and enjoy life without having to shove your face in a game while you recover. It's far better therapy than, "I'm playing Skyrim while I'm in the hospital to take my mind off of being in the hospital." Your corpse won't care that you finally got that last achievement.

Hospitals are one of those places that make me think about what I do/will regret the most in life so my views are very definite and not flexible at all. One of those, "agree to disagree," things for me. I get what you're saying. I just can't change how I think on it.
