You have to have watched DBZ when you were a teenager or a kid. If you go into it when you are 25 it is like chinpokomon from South Park.

The original Dragonball from the 2nd tournament to the end was good as well as the Saiyan Saga and the Freiza saga until the ginyu force. Other than that it's all nostalgia for big dumb laser fights.

I generally find that 9 times out of 10, the manga is better when compared to its anime adaptation. Although I'm sure there are some notable exceptions.

They said the stakes in DBZ were low because people can get ressed but in infinity wars there are literally no stakes at all.

They're just as nonexistent in Dragon Ball. Not only do they have dragon balls on Earth but they have a whole other planet with a people willing to help them with their own and now they're friends with an angel that can rewind time and Goku is literally best buddies with the being that created everything in the Dragon Ball universe. Universes, actually. Because there are at least 12 universes.

Even back in Z they made a whole arc about them going to another planet to use their dragon balls to fix problems caused by the dragon balls on Earth vanishing and then used the balls on Earth to fix the problems caused on that other planet and even literally create an entire new version of that planet after it was destroyed as a result of them originally traveling to it, to begin with.

It's just as mindless. It's just as bad of a story. Liking one growing up doesn't suddenly make it not just as shit.

Definitely. But the Super manga isn't any better than the anime, this time around, so if you partake of either of them you may as well partake of the one that lets you shut your brain off and watch the big dude punch the other big dude.

It's because the animu takes aaaaaages to get anywhere and is a lot less naughty. I think the Frieza fight in the anime lasts multiple hours over half a dozen episodes or something ridiculous like that. With the mango it's like two issues and easily readable in one session.

You wouldn't want to finish the original cut of DBZ. They even re-released it with most of the filler removed because it was atrocious.

But at an older age? Fuck that shit. I've reached the age where it's very easy to fall asleep in a chair. I couldn't watch that stuff if I tried.
