Yeah by this point, James is pretty much a fossil by this point. The only thing he mostly knows are old horror movies and games. He doesn't get any of the newer shit and his review style is a bit dated now. I know the mouth breathers want more Nerd, but what's the point in them if James is literally just shitting them out with all this forced anger he does now.

James is a likeable enough guy he could can the Nerd and just do this shit as himself and I guarantee tons of his viewers would stay.

I would imagine it being like Half in the Bag, not as big as his regular stuff but good enough to get decent views.

I always liked his "Educational and not quite so Angry Nerd" videos even if the info was from a Nintendo Power he read six years before. Something I noticed when copying AVGN was at its peak in the blip years. Everyone was just citing wikipedia.
