I think it's quite hilarious that in the New Testament it's the Jews who want Jesus killed. Even the Roman officials are like, "nope, I don't want anything to do with killing this man."

The Romans were pretty much chill with people starting their own cult/religion (like Jesus was doing). The only thing they couldn't tolerate was their subjects not paying their taxes; and Jesus pretty much locked that down with his "render unto Caesar" declaration that he was totally fine with his followers paying up. So, (((they))) had to prop up the accusations of sedition and such.

That trick is so typical of the Jew, they're still doing it to this day in Syria. "Assad totally has chemical weapons and is using them despite winning his civil war! Please be a good shabbos-goy and bombard them so we can occupy the Golan Heights."
