I don't like the cringe comedy either, but whenever he just talks about the game, he assumes that chilled out movie review persona(aka real James) that isn't true to the AVGN character either.

Dude should just let it die, because the simple fact is that he hasn't been an angry video game nerd for a decade now. Nor a good enough actor to recreate his 20-year old self. I don't think it's just that he ran out of personal games to talk about, he's become a legit more patient and collected person over the years(probs parenting experience).
