I've noticed a lot of Americans seem to assume that they can move anywhere they want, like the whole "If you live in a red state, you're the enemy even if you voted for Hilary" bullshit not taking into account financial or family issues. But that isn't limited to states, it extends to countries as well. I knew a lot who wanted to live in Europe and assumed getting an EU citizenship was easy as can be. Same with moving to Canada, not understanding that Canada has a strict migration process as well to stop anyone from just moving in like every country in the world has.
