The Uber drivers have a better case since Uber is taking a piece of the revenue they generate (not to mention facilitating their entry into a potentially regulated market with licensing and threat of legal action).

Channel Awesome is just a community website where people embed videos. Bringing in various producers brought in their audiences, thus growing the total audience pool for everyone. It's also why crossover videos were popular.

CA didn't touch the money the other producers earned at all (except for Marzgurl briefly, apparently; it's a good thing they stopped or that could be an issue). They did get money the webpage ads and those anniversary and certain crossover-related vids. Participating in anniversaries was apparently completely optional (LordKat only did a voice role for one because he didn't want to go).

That's another detail I glossed over. They can fuck off whining about not getting paid for it, they fucking chose to go. I can understand if the company said they had to go or they would no longer host their videos but that clearly didn't happen at all or they would be bitching up. Larry was never invited to those, a lot of producers didn't go to them and were still featured on the site like the others.

That would only be a problem if they took money that wasn't agreed upon. Otherwise, they could very well have different contracts with different people.
