Notwithstanding I've yet to see any evidence that asexuality even exists. All instances of it that I've seen were better examples of a desperate person trying to rationalize their lack of sexual supply.

If you don't subscribe to the "he was gay" school of thought, then Frederick the Great could be considered asexual - he was said to be physically repulsed by women, and while he was forced into marriage by his father, as soon as the old man died he "exiled" her away from his presence and only paid her a yearly visit or so. Although, he was very close to his sister, so who knows. Two of Old Fritz's enemies were women, but he only really hates one of them - he reportedly admired Maria Theresa, but called Elisabeth of Russia "the Messalina of the East".

I don't claim to be asexual, but based on my own experiences I could see how some might label themselves asexual.

I don't have much of a drive to be with a woman. I've never really tried hard to get girlfriends. When I have a girlfriend I like fucking and would fuck as often as possible. But when I'm single, I'm okay jacking off when horny. Way cheaper, quicker, and less bullshit to deal with.

That doesn't sound even remotely asexual to me. Asexuals supposedly don't get "horny" and don't particularly enjoy sex at all. Or so they claim.

Not putting in a lot of effort to get women, not being thirsty, not having a particularly out-of-control sex drive etc... None of these are asexuality. If it does exist, I would describe it as sexual dysfunction.

Even hard-left wikipedia points out that there is debate among researchers that asexuality is even a sexual orientation. Since most examples I have ever been given on asexuality were matters of degree rather than rejection, I have not yet found any compelling evidence to believe in asexuality as an orientation on par with heterosexuality, bisexuality or homosexuality.

For example, a vegetarian does not eat meat. They abstain. An asexual would be more comparable to someone who is physically repulsed by the notion of eating meat and has zero interest in having any. There are many homosexuals, bisexuals and heterosexuals who abstain from sex, but abstinence does not make them asexual.

Most historical examples of "this guy thought women were gross" were probably examples of closeted homosexuals.

Just saying that I get why some people (the same people that self-diagnose themselves with depression/bipolar/autism/gender dysphoria/etc/etc/etc) label themselves that.

They have low sex drives and/or aren't interested in dealing with another person in a relationship, so they read about "asexuality" and think "yeah, that's me!".
