I've never heard of this bullshit and I've had joint problems all my life, just about. Pretty much since age 10 or so. I've heard DSP try this gimmick too. "Oh I've been playing so much aka working so hard and my fingers are killing me! It hurts so much to press x!"

Are these bitches too bitchmade to read books or type? Both seem more strenuous than playing vidya.

Now, playing wasd does hurt my fingers because of the way I play it. So I use a cuntroller for muh ergonomics.
