It's Frankensteen, dammit.

Saw Guardians 2 last night. It was good. Elizabeth Debecki and Michelle Yeoh were both fit as fuck.
As I watched Star-Lord literally fist fight a god in the core of a planet, I couldn't help wondering how in the hell they are going to top this for Avengers 3? Hell, the endings for all the previous Marvel movies have been pretty epic. Unless they erase our memories or redefine cinema as we know it, how can it be anything but a disappointment?
I don't even want to see that shit now. Chubby Josh Brolin as a big purple guy? So ohhhhhhh!

Seeing Guardians 2 made me realise why that part of the Marvel universe got so popular. It is legitimately different from the other Marvel films, while still sticking somewhat to the marvel blueprint. The reason it is better is that the characters are MUCH fucking better than Marvel's shit where everyone is a snarky asshole. In this movie the characters are fleshed out really well and the relationships between them, and their flaws, make them way more relateable than the rest of Marvel's shit where they only have just enough personalty to not be boring, like a salesmen though where it is hollow.
My only problem:
I agree with RLM that it was better than the first one and the problem I had with it was overshadowed by the movie focusing on character arcs since that was clearly the main focus.
My only problem:
SpoilerShow
Is that the villain sucked. The main character finds his dad, turns out he is a god and only gave birth to him to create someone else who has his power since he can't rule the universe on his own due to his lack of power. He wants to destroy the universe because "he has found his purpose". It makes no fucking sense what so ever and it's lazily written. Quill totally goes along with it until his Dad randomly mentions that "oh by the way,I gave your mom a tumour, now back to destroying the universe."
It feels tacked on since I said it sticks somewhat to the Marvel blueprint by needing some "save the universe" bullshit stakes at the end. I feel the executives may have pressured him to put that in there, since it seems rushed and poorly developed despite every other character being written well.
Futurama had a similar episode where Leela thought she found her home planet but found out the utopia wasn't what she thought it was. It was built up much better.
