Maybe I have to explain further. He sucked in combat mainly because he chose a rather tricky trait ("finesse" which increase the crit chance but significantly decrease the damage output). His character could be a decent combatant if done right but he clearly didn't know what he was doing. He was upset because of the bugged combat mechanics.
