Faggot Mike (sort of) did a Rise of Skywalker Plinkett review.

It was ok. Though I wish "Plinkett" would have taken the RLM guys to task for some of the dumb shit the RLM guys have said that aged badly. They kind of addressed the Jar Jar Abrams thing, but not really.

The new video is Mike Stoklasa's way of saying that he's done with Star Wars.

Took him just ten years of Disney Star Wars to get to that concusion, uh. If only Kween Kambalah had won, Mike could still enjoy his high estrogen pew-pew whoom-whoom space witch franchise without guilt.

I found Mike's point interesting that what made him say goodbye to Star Wars wasn't something that he hated, but something that he liked. He thinks "Andor" is great, but he "can't truly love it" because Star Wars as a brand isn't special anymore. It's tainted now and oversaturated and abused and there's no single vision guiding the ship. Even when he likes something, he feels a certain cold distance from it. As a person who makes his living analyzing and commenting on media, he may feel that he can't intelligently do that with new Star Wars anymore because he doesn't feel close to it anymore. Everything is going to be filtered through an old Gen X-er's POV of remembering what Star Wars used to be. It's gonna get boring, for the audience and for himself.

I relate. I'm about the same age as Mike and I have no curiosity about new Star Wars beyond watching the stuff fail, which is connected to a broader interest in watching Hollywood's fixation on franchises fail.

We'll see if RLM do anymore Star Wars reviews. They're pretty good at not bothering with major releases that they aren't interested in, even when their audience demands it.

Old man Mike went senile a decade ago.

Anything coming from Star Wars that isn't directly attached to HorHay Lucustus is legally authorized fan fiction.

Star Wars is proof that women ruin everything. Kathleen Kennedy got a hold of it, filled the writer's room with a bunch of blue-haired, tattooed, piercings up the ass man hating lesbians, so nobody should be surprised how this all turned out.

Yeah, either he's trying to come up with a way to tell RLM's fanbase to fuck off with the requests for more star wars reviews or he's got really shitty taste.

He didn't like the prequels, which is a correct opinion.

He didn't like the Jizzney star wars movies, which is also a correct opinion.

How much more do you need to see to make up your mind, old man? I stopped watching entirely after the first Abrams movie shit the bed. I knew there was nothing left for me in the franchise then.

"Why did Mike not stop seeing Star Wars movies after The Force Awakens? I don't understand!"

Uh, my niggas, y'all know that Mike is a movie reviewer, right? Half in the Bag covered every blockbuster-type thing that came out for awhile. That was its point. Even if the movie looked bad, RLM would likely make a funny video about it, at least. You all might not consider that a job, but it's his job and he does well.

In the past 4-5 years RLM started getting picky. Their audience is now there just for Mike, Jay, and Rich and RLM don't need to review everything anymore to be relevant. They skip high profile movies all of the time now if they're not interested or think they might end up repeating themselves.

As for Star Wars. RLM is strongly associated with Star Wars commentary going back to the Plinkett videos from 20 years ago. Mike is also of the age to have come up when Star Wars the biggest thing in the world. How it's now lost him seems like an interesting topic for a video to me.
