New Final Destination was ok. It has the problem some movies do where it peaks in the first 15 minutes. The first 15 minutes are pretty gloriously schlocky, and I was howling with laughter for a lot of it.

Well, this one, they play with that a little bit. The MC inherits a vision from her grandmother.

And the first fifteen minutes is her grandmother's vision, which involves this Seattle space needle looking thing collapsing and killing dozens of yuppies.

It's a spectacle to be sure: there's people getting burned alive, a piano gets dropped on an asshole kid; people are falling and splattering like hail, an elevator breaks and kills a bunch of people...

It's not officially summer yet, but in Texas it may as well be summer already and I have a few summer movie-watching traditions and one of those is....

SLEEPAWAY CAMP (1983)
1. I consider it the best 80s slasher movie and I've seen a billion of them
2. It's also hilarious. My wife, who's not into horror movies much, even likes it for that reason.
3. No one in it is normal.
4. Nothing that happens in it is normal.
5. The ending is still great.
6. Because of its legendary ending, this film is a source of raging debate about whether or not it's "transphobic". For the record, I don't think it's transphobic, but troons are sensitive assholes.
7.. Still, for the above reason, it's VERY unlikely to be remade

I've never seen it but of course I know the ending.
Nobody actually gives a shit about anything being "transphobic". There's less than a million of them on the entire planet. Possibly less than half that. Ignore those assholes always and at every turn.
