That could be a possibility, but why would you make a eurogame about the papal conclave and market it to Leftoids?
I can't imagine any genderspecial being into Catholicism (or Christianity in general, outside of maybe their own fucked-up interpretation). They've been hemming and hawing about the gays for decades, and probably even longer for lady bishops, effectively doing nothing but delay because they don't want to publicly admit that they never want to change the status quo.
And that's not even going into the trans question.
