Hitler was overrated and wildly inefficient as a leader.

Barbarossa + refusing to commit forces against Great Britain were the twin death blows. He could have taken Great Britain before attacking Russia and while the US was still preparing to officially enter the war. He chose to allow his air force to fight a lone battle against Britain. Then he followed that stalemate with an aggressive push into Russia in fucking winter with no cold weather gear.

Hitler's administration was also rather shitty, made up primarily of sycophants and whichever officers survived his military purges prior to the war. His various cabinets tended to dislike each other strongly and not be disposed towards cooperation. Hitler had a habit too of making over-bold moves. Which served him well at the start of the war, but became increasingly in need of a reigning-in. Which no one in Hitler's cabinet could do. He gave (tactically) poor orders during Barbarossa and from that point until the end of the war really. He was overly optimistic about what his men could reasonably accomplish with what resources.
