Origins was very 2010s edgy. It wasn't really woke at all. There was one companion who was playersexual, but he acted like a stereotypical gay anyway.

DA2's story started to veer more towards the "every character is gay" territory, but it was still proto-SJW compared to the full-on DEI preaching we get now.

To be fair to D&D scenarios, they're gameplay tools first and foremost. If races were at war all the time, you'd have a difficult time having a party group where the players can pick and choose whatever race they want without automatically putting them at odds with the other players.

Doesn't mean you can't have scenarios where players may be at odd one with another, but the "default" scenarios (FR and Eberron) will definitely have to avoid that sort of thing because it can make the DM's life much more difficult.

Besides, everybody knows that if you want players to be at each other's throats with impunity, Paranoia is the best choice.

They've already released their magnum opus, so better to stop at the height of their fame.

An actual ongoing war can be weird, which is why Eberron is set after Fantasy World War I.
But that doesn't mean there can't be any conflict, even outside of the obligatory kingdom/empire run by demons/devils/undead.
Based Mystara for example has a cold war going on between Not-Rome and Wizard Empire, which can turn into proxy wars or border skirmishes where their spheres of influence are too close. Then you have two different merchant guilds vying for power. And who could forget the Not-Mongols, who would probably gladly invade one of their neighbors if only the designers of Mystara didn't make the continent like 70% mountain ranges.

In actual play this would probably just boild down to casual racism, just like whenever there's and elf and a dwarf in the party.

I don't think any Bioware title ever had an iota of decent combat, even during their halcyon days. They were janky and iffy compared to their contemporaries, but biodrones always overrated them to hell and back with DA in tow. Cucknadians can't into good game design.
Some may cite Mass Reject Panderomeda's gunplay as """fun,""" but they're faggots.
