Sake sucks. Asians don't have good liquor. French, Italians, Nords, Germans, Britons, Spaniards, Greeks, even pirates all have good liquor. Even Mexicans have good liquor with mescal and tequila.

Asian countries have only shit liquors. Koumiss, Sake and Baijiu. All reportedly taste terrible even to other asians. I don't know about Soju.

The Middle East actually had some amazing spirits in antiquity. Persian wine was famous and will hopefully be restored in the future and, to my surprise, distilled alcohol was invested in Arabia, post Islamic conquest.
