Re: Capeshit thread (comics and movies)
Must be the catering. I know according to Hollywood beat writers that it was filmed in LA but I don't think that's enough to blow it that high. I know Troons were trying to say that movies as musicals tend to be expensive and that's why studios stopped doing them which makes me laugh. They always say that a medium is expensive when a project has an insane budget.
Though I am laughing more at Todd Phillips saying Joker Deux wasn't a musical even though it has 15 scenes of singing in it even though most musicals average around 8. That and them shoving Gaga all over marketing even though she was only in it for 22 minutes.

Why would a musical be naturally more expensive? There's no difference between taking several takes of line deliveries than singing.
If anything, you'll mostly get musical stage actors who can sleepwalk through the songs they sing every day twice.
What's more difficult? Learning a speech and showing the correct emotions or singing a light pop song with a default grinsmirk on your face?

>musicals are too expensive
La La Land had a budget of 30 million.
Sweeney Todd and Moulin Rouge, both requiring period-appropriate costumes and sets, had a budget of 50 million each.
Repo - The Genetic Opera was 8.5 million, and most of that was probably due to the casting.
EDIT: Oh and I guess there was that Cats thing, which despite having CGI up the ass was still a rather moderate (by today's standards) 80-100 million.
This is most likely some weird cope.

Oh I know it's complete crap. They tried to say that you had to do so much retakes in order to get the choreography right as if you don't do the same with line deliveries. They don't want to admit that the problem with entertainment is how inefficient it is these days.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 9:36 pmWhy would a musical be naturally more expensive? A cope by Internet retards, not even the makers. Because they know fully well that half of that budget was spent on pheasant dinners in jacuzzis while on the 15th gram of blow by noon.

They don't want to admit that their diversity and ideology hires would result in entire casts that can't sing and/or dance worth a damn.
Lack of talent is a lot harder to mask when it's about doing the time warp again.

Lady Gaga did actual Satanist rituals and sold her soul to Hollywood in the name of Moloch. The bitch can sing. That's not the problem.
It's just that buying infants to slaughter in a blood sacrifice that make Chris Barnes era Cannibal Corpse lyrics sound quaint isn't cheap.

According to one of the Geeks and Gamers guys, Phillips isn't technically wrong that it wasn't a musical. Only because the movie is written so poorly that the music numbers do nothing to push the plot like other musicals. Just random pop songs that Harley and Joker sing. He thought that maybe go all out as a musical could have helped the movie somewhat.Dehbashi wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 9:17 pmThough I am laughing more at Todd Phillips saying Joker Deux wasn't a musical even though it has 15 scenes of singing in it even though most musicals average around 8. Also Congratulations at blowing it at the box office. This movie made 37.8 million domestically at the box office opening weekend which is under 40% of the 96.2 million that the original made. It also opened less than the Marvels and Morbius.

Ironically, joker.gif has seen yet another rise.
Me earlier today using my massive leverage when the studio tried to get back out of the red:
I'll call Bezog tomorrow to buy Blue Origin and turn the moon rocket into a Starlink destroyer. Time to dunk on these poors!

I wish I could say that Joker fought the good fight, but prison ain’t no fairy tale.Complicity wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 5:19 amMan, i just saw the final scene on a pirate site and, while Joaquin is dying, Jacob Loafland is in the background cutting himself for those sweet Heath Ledger's scars.VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2024 6:22 pmIt's like that Gotham TV series where all of Batman's iconic villains where already active while he was still a boy/teenager. I think that one has had at least two Jokers.Complicity wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 8:17 pmI guess it also makes sense that Jacob Loafland is Joker, because he's not supposed to be older than Bruce Wayne.
This is a musical with Lady Gaga in which the protagonist takes it in the ass while in prison, and yet that is the gayest scene in it.
