A plot like this is designed not only to piss off the fans of the first movie (that i've never watched because i don't give a shit), but also the leftist critics.
The message of the movie is that the reward for being a good soyboy is becoming a power bottom, your waifu will leave you because you are not her bad boy fantasy, and another marginalized inmate - who used to idolize you - will kill you and move on to fight Batman and give your bitch the beatings and the dickings she craves so much.
At least the movie nails the portrayal of Harley Quinn; she's not a psychiatric patient with the same tragic backstory of Arthur The Bitch, she's just a blonde idiot who wants the ultimate bad boy.
I guess it also makes sense that Jacob Loafland is Joker, because he's not supposed to be older than Bruce Wayne.

While talking to my brother about it, turns out WB did zero test screenings for the movie. What kind of crack were they smoking to do zero when you give the movie a 200 million budget. They were asking for this movie to fail.
