The only people who still respect Hulk Hogan in 2024 are the people who stopped watching wrestling after he left WWF in 93 and have nothing but happy manchild memories of ear-cups and leg drops. I do have to say him wishing he used his japanese finisher in the US cos his hip is destroyed now is pretty lulzy. Not as lulzy as Harley Race regretting the diving headbutt, but lulzy. If I was a stereotypical smart mark that loved Trump and all of a sudden Hogan shows up, I'd start having doubts.

You know, Al Snow always complained about Dave Meltzer being seen as an authority on wrestling. You want to know why reporters will talk to Dave Meltzer over Hulk Hogan? Because Meltzer isn't full of shit! Well, ok everyone in wrestling, worker or otherwise is full of shit, but Meltzer is more believable of a liar than Hulk Hogan. For fuck's sake Hogan tried to claim that he auditioned for Metallica after Cliff Burton died to get people talking! Let me get this straight, in September 1986, you are THE wrestling A-lister, B-lister by proper pop-culture standards, making millions of dollars, and you're going to drop everything to join this extreme (for the time) metal band who, yeah they've got a buzz going at this point, but are earning peanuts compared to you? You were gonna drop everything to do that? Get fucked Bollea.

Ric Flair is a liar too, he hasn't said QUITE the stupid shit that Hogan has said over the years, but he's said stupid and wrong shit about Mick Foley, Bruno Sammartino and Randy Savage amongst others.

So why are reporters gonna talk to Meltzer over other wrestlers when it comes to wrestling? Cos they know they're most likely going to get the closest thing to the truth from him. Fuck Al Snow, fuck Ric Flair, fuck Hulk Hogan, and fuck wrestling in general now that I think about it. You know I haven't heard a peep out of WWE ever since they "completed Cody's story." For all I know Rhodes lost the title to David Arquette.

Read a bit of the transcript of Trump's RNC speech - and just so I'm on record as being nice to Orange Man. I thought the first few paragraphs - maybe the first five, ten minutes on TV - we'll say fifteen - where he was talking about the assassination attempt were well articulated. He put us in the moment well - and the eulogy he offered for the retired firefighter who died was lovely. Well done, truly.

I imagine a person who got shot at would have something interesting to say two days later.
