I also think ET is a little overrated - of course I wonder how much of that is shit like Stranger Things stealing shit from it shot for shot or the endless references to it. When I watched it finally, it left no impression on me.

Raiders is Spielberg's masterpiece - unless you're Rushy and think his masterpiece is Kingdom of the Crystal Greenscreen.

I watched it as a kid and barely remember anything that happened. It was such a big deal for a good decade after it came out but it's bizarre no one talks about it anymore after the mid 90s. Even during the 80s nostalgia of the 2000s where every Millenial loved 80s stuff it is the one thing from that time peroid no one brings up in retrospectives. No one has nostalgia for it even though when you adjust for ticket price inflation it is the 4th highest grossing movie of all time.
