The MCU brand is trash at this point. They're likely looking at another bomb with their Black Captain America movie, which was received so poorly at test screenings last year that they pushed the release date back to 2025 so they could basically rewrite and reshoot the whole thing, no doubt ballooning the production costs to the point that it will be a failure if it doesn't make $1 billion.

They're a mess right now and if a director has any sort of artistic ambition, it's debatable whether making an MCU movie will even be good for their career.

Because not only is the brand in decline, but the finished movie probably won't even be their vision for it.

With the MCU it's simple what the problem is. They never planned anything for a movie properly in pre-production and production that they did half of the work in post-production. They got away with it back in the day but post Endgame, the audience said fuck it

I’ve been a casual Mahvel observer at best. Liked Loki - and the touches in Dr Strange that felt like ideas Sam Raimi came up with (there’s no way Jizzney ok’d turning Mr Fantastic into Swiss cheese - Raimi pushed that) - but they are in decline. Deadpoo could very well be their last mega hit.
