Judging by her tweets she probably gets euphoric from the moment she starts looking for a new tattoo all the way to when she can first unveil the final result (after which it probably loses its luster judging by how she almost immediately starts fantasizing about getting her next "fix").

I think it's also got a lot to do with a severe lack of confidence. In her and some other cases rightly so.
