I've seen that come up before, and I just can't get my head around it. Considering all the other parts of the creative process, and all the people contributing their various skills and talents to it, singling out actors as deserving of a cut of sales comes off as supremely egotistical and out of touch. Especially in the realm of video games specifically, an industry that's infamous for crunching its workforce to the point of 60, 70, 80-hour weeks for months at a time, I simply can't imagine thinking that someone who puts in a handful of four-hour sessions over the course of the entire project is more deserving of residuals than any of the modelers, programmers, debuggers, ect who find themselves subjected to those conditions. Especially especially considering how much less essential to the baseline function of the end product a voice actor's contribution actually is! It's madness. Look, I love voice acting as a craft, but some of the habits that voice actors seem to be exhibiting in recent years (mostly the younger set, from my experience) are pretty fucked up. Have some respect for the rest of the process, guys.
