Err, yes, yes it is. Berserk is supposed to shock you. I don't think any true-and-honest fan will argue against that. You can be deep and shock people, you know?

Maybe none of them featured a bound Farnese about to be raped by the demon possessed horse.
My favorite scene, with the troll mass rapings coming in as close second.
I feel that most Berserk "fans" only know about the gay Golden Age arc since all they have seen is the piss poor animu (the newer one, the old one was actually okay). Meaning they missed all the good fun.

Or that arc featuring the Not-Inquisition with a lovingly full-page spread of a women-only torture chamber.
Or that time the Not-Muslims ran a literal demon factory fueled by pregnant women.
Or that arc where kids get turned into naked fake fairies and start brutally slaughtering each other for "fun".
And speaking of good fun: Does Schierke ever get raped in the final chapters? Asking for a friend.

I certainly hope they won't get their way with this one. This shit is basically killing fiction. The tabletop RPG industry is hit especially hard with this, with D&D and Pathfinder purging all traces of slavery and colonialism from their settings because they want to pander to weirdoes who think that even mentioning [bad things] in your work of fiction means you personally condone [bad things].

Thanks for the memories Habibi! Yeah there's a lot of great scenes and yes they are meant to be shocking (so you know the stakes are high I guess?)
Also the enemy shown to do bad things is so the audience will know to hate them. It's quite harrowing how current year danger hair fags can't seem to understand this even though they hate everything and everyone including themselves.

But pfff no nothing bad ever happens to Schierke, she exists only to be perfect and solve all the problems no other character can solve with asspull magic tricks that even Flora couldn't do. There's an entire chapter where they fight in Casca's subconscious against horrors of the eclipse and it is just like pokemon battles where Schierke throws greater demons at everything.
When Guts gets the berserker armor he is literally unable to fight without her or the armor will overcome him.
I honestly don't know what the deal was with this shit character and I hope Miura's padawans kill her off.
In typical berserk fashion of course.

The older stuff - especially the Showa stuff - has some good Star Trek TOS vibes for the human portions of the episode (which are way better done than in say Godzilla movies), and the newer stuff is only halfs as long as Kamen Rider or Super Sentai so you can consoom more.

Anyway, my love for the OG Ultraman is just how cartoonishly violent it got despite it being aimed at children. Tsuburaya never wanted to bring graphic violence into Godzilla films yet his Ultra series were not afraid to decapitate, blind, and mutilate its monsters.
