Re: Get Woke, Go Broke Thread
It's more of the fact that the Woke, After sizing Western movies and Video games, had set their sights on Japan's Anime, Manga, and Vydia!
But the Delicious Irony to it all is that the mere Existence of Japan (hell, the Entire East in general) serves as nothing but massive Paradox to their Narrative's Dilemma!
Like all other countries in East Asia, Japan views all foreigners as literal Sub-Humans 'Filthy Baka Gaijin who forever have no hope to ever bath in the light of Glorious Nippon it's Master Race!' (Bonus Points for being extra hostile and demeaning towards blacks)
They not only deny their own war crimes but if were given even a remote possibility to reenact their genocidal war campaign of East Asia, but this time succeed, they do it this millisecond!
Their entire anime market if filled to the brim with pretty "Manic Pixie Dream Girls" with unreasonably massive bust sizes!
And to top it all off they unironically love Nazi Germany (having allied with them in world war 2) and believe that "Hitler dinni du Nuthen!"
All of this and more is what drives them made to no end, and now that Japan is starting translate their stuff oversees by themselves, it gives the SJW have no means of weaseling into the industry and (((Subverting it))) for their own gain!

Re: Get Woke, Go Broke Thread
The whole fucking point of the -Shock games, before they were ruined at least, was that the immersive sim genre doesn't translate outside of video games. The POINT is that you are the one making decisions. The character is a blank slate with only the slightest bit of characterization. You decide how to build them, what to buy, what combat scenarios to avoid and how to tackle obstacles or moral choices. A tv show can't do that.
Of course, any game-to-film translation sacrifices player agency. But would that really matter in an animated Sam and Max film, or Last of Us 3: Kangz of Netflix? There are some game genres that could transition to television. Bioshock is not one of them.
But I will give thanks for one small mercy. By selecting Bioshock, they've gone with the popular pleb choice, and chosen the inferior, console-oriented shootybangbang version, instead of befouling glorious System Shock 2. The story of Bioshock isn't particularly deep compared to system shock. It's mostly just retreading and repackaging concepts from SS2 and presenting them in a less-compelling, HD-textured wrapper. Bioshock blows its load early on visuals and symbolism but most of the characters are non-entities even compared to the audio-log files in System Shock 2. And Ryan/Fontaine aren't half the antagonists of The Many/SHODAN. Ryan is barely coherent and Fontaine is a b-movie stereotype from old mob movies. In SS2, the slow seduction of the crew to The Many, and the subtle Janet Polito personality shift (pieced together from logs) are both far more interesting.
Bioshock is a pretty middling game compared to SS2. Normies and console plebs have convinced themselves it's awesome. The story was merely passable in Bioshit 1 and downright awful by Bioshit 2. It wasn't until Infinite that normies began to notice the games declining in quality, but the decline happened before the -shock series even appeared on their radar. I'd even place SS1 above the Bioshock games if not for the fact it plays like utter and complete ass. Bioshock 1 doesn't play like ass, but it's in a weird limbo now. The story isn't good enough to play it for the story, and the gameplay sucks too much to recommend for that alone.

Re: Get Woke, Go Broke Thread
How is the System Shock story deep? It's "rogue AI takes over" and "rogue AI takes over but also rogue AI #1 takes over the takeover".
SS2 barely even has a twist. Shodan is on the cover and even if you were blind, the twist is obvious at about a third in.
The atmosphere is great. The story isn't anything to write home about. Translated to film, it's basically an 80s action flick. But we know they won't make something that fun.

Speaking of Infinite, they should've adapted that since muh precious plot and characterization is constantly in your face thanks to Budget Disney Princess. But even there they will lose out on her constantly asking your for your worthless opinion.

BullShit Infinite also had this guy who is a wahman in another dimension.
Just run with that for maximum Progressive!
There's also themes of muh racism.
Seriously, BSI is awful. Even Bio wasn't too great with this weird clunky combat and nonsensical hacking and powers but at least the setting was good enough that I did play it twice (also to see le evil ending, but they both aren't great).
BSI also has shitty writing worthy of a netfux show. I always remember when the characters run into a problem they cannot solve, so they dimension shift to another reality where they already solved the problem.
This is some top tier supar clevur ryting u guis.
