For FF7, they basically had to extends this scene with Aerith's mother. Not only because they're in love with muh cinematic graphics, but also because every single minute counts if you insist on remaking the first 2 hours or so of a game into a standalone title.
B-b-but the original game had THreE dIScs!!!!!!! So It's totally not a rip off you guiz!
Cum-guzzling retard-Utter Fucking Genius!
Yes retarded fanboys use this excuse unironically so apparently I have to spell it out for them:

1) Many other games other then FF7 used two or multiple discs during the 90's so that doesn't really count
2) The resoan they did that back then is because
a) games where becoming more ambitions and more "advanced" yet didn't have any physical formats that could store so much data on it (Yes kids believe it or not half a gigabyte was a ton back then) so they would have ONE game spread across 2 or 4 discs
b)Anti piracy measures. The Internet did have rom/iso sites like today but the Internet was slow as hell and services would charge so much it that you would literary save more time and money buying the game upfront  especially when one disc was not enough to play the game in it's entirety.
And lasty: the game still came with ALL THREE DISCS when you bought it! And this is where the magic happened -
When disc 1 came to an end you where prompted to opan the disc tray, so you'd take disc 1 out, put disc 2 in, close it and precede. Same with dics 2&3

Shouldn't have to explain and yet I do so No dice Mr.Strawman!

They really get hang up on the multiple disc thing, effectively thinking they had Blu-Ray-levels of storage capacity, and overhyping the length of FF7 to the point it seems the game had an amount of content that could only be beat with the combined content of all previous FF games plus Chrono Trigger.

Or they have the weird idea that say the entirety of Midgar has to be modeled in a remake, even if the city was mostly just a backdrop for the prologue.

(of course I learned later that the old man died because I fucked up and didn't feed him the right fish)
The method is so convoluted it's easy to mess up on it.

I always interpreted this as his death is canon. They made the method for saving him so precise and convoluted that most players will see him die.

Just goes to show how much better FF6 is than FF7. Fantards of the latter have spent years polluting the net with fake secret tricks and challenges to totally save Aerith. FF6 on the other hand has an actual secret trick to rescue a character (although a non-playable one).

The worst aspect of FF6 is the spaghetti code that makes certain stats meaningless. Also, every character becomes largely the same once you unlock espers. World of Ruin is dominated by magic use. Techs don't scale as strongly for most characters. What this means is you lose out on the unique aspect of using certain characters.

I'm aware of 3 bugs, at least the first of which has been fixed in every release after the original one (and even the original can be fixed with various fan patches).
  1. Evasion does fuckall. Every to-hit calculation uses Magic Evasion instead. This nerfs several shields and borks up a few boss encounters. Kefka in his final form for example has a rather beefy Evasion score which does nothing (not that you'd actually use weapons against him since spells reign supreme at this point), and bosses like Ultros who like to afflict the Blind status become a lot easier than intended because the Blind status does nothing besides giving a character a cool pair of shades.
  2. The developers apparently didn't factor in how high you can push Magic stats with the Esper system. If you overdo it you'll run into an integer overflow which causes endgame spells to deal less damage than their first tier counterparts.
  3. Relm's Sketch ability can glitch out if you use it on some rare enemies or Gau. Afaik the effects can include anything from generating items out of thin air, freezing the game or erasing your save.
And the Esper system is ultimately why I prefer FF5. Sure the 6th one has better writing and characters, but the Job system is just way cleaner and fun to use.
Sure, there's an even greater risk of everyone being the same at the end (since the characters differ only in their base stats, with now special abilities to speak of), but it'll take a long while to have everyone learn everything, and even if you want to grind you never get the nagging feeling of messing up like you can in FF6 with the Espers' level-up bonuses (should I switch to an Esper that rasies my HP? How often do I need to pick Espers like that to get max HP? And should I grind now or proceed with the game to find an Esper that gives me an even better bonus?).
Plus the Esper system was a taste of things to come.

I believe there are also some bugged items in FF6 that don't work the way they are supposed to, which leads to glitches and ridiculously broken setups.

The worst FF combat system is probably 8, where there are literally no differences between characters, summons trigger unskippable cutscenes and the game is built around grinding for everything.

FF9 is pretty simplistic, but at least characters feel unique again.
