No, if it were gay and retarded, they'd be doing itLe Redditeur wrote: ↑Tue Dec 28, 2021 6:29 pmGuest wrote: ↑Tue Dec 28, 2021 6:20 pmNo, because that would be halfway clever gay and retarded and Matrix 4 is not a clever fully gay and retarded movie.

Re: Movie Thread
The Matrix movies never used numbered titles anyway and honestly, I always viewed the two sequels (Reloaded and Revolutions) as two halves of the same movie anyway. I'm more surprised they didn't went with "The Matrix Rebooted" for the new one, given it's meta nature.

Re: Movie Thread
That's the lazy man's man way of turning a hit movie into a trilogy (mostly because you can build in a cliffhanger at the end of the second one and don't have to come up with two different storylines). Pirates of the Carribean is an obvious example, and you can bet that this second Avatar movie (the one with the blue cat people, not the one with the Asians) will do this as well.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Dec 28, 2021 10:54 pmThe Matrix movies never used numbered titles anyway and honestly, I always viewed the two sequels (Reloaded and Revolutions) as two halves of the same movie anyway.

Re: Movie Thread
To be fair BTTF 1 was planned as a solo movie so no plans for a sequel and if I recall BTTF 2 and 3 were actually filmed together with them releasing them a year apart on purpose.
Re: Movie Thread
Yeah, the cliffhanger in BTFF1 was just a joke ending that people took too seriously when it came out, so they had no choice but to make a sequel to satisfy audience's demand.

Re: Movie Thread
Originally, it did not say "To be continued" at the end of Back to the Future 1. They added that in on the VHS release after a sequel had been greenlit. I think the "To be continued" may have been removed on the DVDs and Blu-rays.
Back to the Future 2 & 3 were released less than a year apart. 2 was released in winter 89 and 3 was released in summer 90. I don't think people would have tolerated waiting a year or more to resolve the Part II cliffhanger.
As for Matrix 4... who exactly wanted it? The concept is so 1999. And those trannies killed the franchise dead with parts 2 & 3 that nobody liked. Why did they think people would want more after all that?
I think the same apathy is going to happen when Avatar 2 gets released. Nobody gives a fuck about that property anymore except James Cameron.

It helps that BTTF2&3 were written as one movie, since Part 3 was just a rejected final act for Part 2 that would've made the it too long and realized that it could've easily been its own movie.Liar Revealed wrote: ↑Wed Dec 29, 2021 2:40 amOriginally, it did not say "To be continued" at the end of Back to the Future 1. Apparently Warner Bros. was going to make it, whether the Wachowski trannies wanted or not.As for Matrix 4... who exactly wanted it? The concept is so 1999. And those trannies killed the franchise dead with parts 2 & 3 that nobody liked. Why did they think people would want more after all that?
I like how Cameron wants to make like four or five Avatar sequels when he's been taking so long just to get the second one out. There's been like 20+ MCU movies since the first Avatar came out and the only thing people even remember about the first Avatar is the "Dancing with Smurfs" memes.I think the same apathy is going to happen when Avatar 2 gets released. Re: Movie Thread
It was obvious that part 3 was already filmed when 2 was released in theaters. They already had a trailer for the 3rd movie play right after the ending of 2 in theaters.Liar Revealed wrote: ↑Wed Dec 29, 2021 2:40 amBack to the Future 2 & 3 were released less than a year apart. 2 was released in winter 89 and 3 was released in summer 90. Interesting. I didn't know this was why 3 was filmed at the time of 2.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Dec 29, 2021 4:11 amIt helps that BTTF2&3 were written as one movie, since Part 3 was just a rejected final act for Part 2 that would've made the it too long and realized that it could've easily been its own movie.
I don't know about that. People think so because of a line in 4 but that movie was being tryhard with meta and my understanding is that one of the Wachowski trannies didn't even return for 4.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Dec 29, 2021 4:11 amApparently Warner Bros. was going to make it, whether the Wachowski trannies wanted or not.
